You may remember Planetshakers drummer Mike Webber from our 3-part interview (1, 2, 3). Well today, Planetshakers released their brand new record, LIMITLESS.

[this post is part of a series based on a conversation with Mike Webber. Check out Part 1,Part 2, Part 3]
In this last segment Mike shares his heart about playing with humility, fulfilling our calling as drummers and their new CD Heal Our Land.
I recently caught up with Mike Webber, the phenomenal drummer for Planetshakers, and had the opportunity to ask him some questions about drums, drummers and worshipdrumming. The conversation was so animated that we ended up with 45 mins of video, chalk full of great advice for worshipdrummers.
We will be breaking up the interview into 3 shorter videos so you will have an easier time digesting them.
In many respects, Mike’s drumming has influenced my playing and has always encouraged me to play from a passionate place. I know you will enjoy these videos!
So without further ado, here’s video number one.

What are your impressions? Have you heard of Mike before? Let’s chat it up in the comments below.
Stay tuned for part two!
Editor’s note: Audio and video quality are not the best as it was recorded through Skype. The audio was out of sync and we are trying to find a better solution for future interviews. Thanks for understanding. Most of all, I pray that the content is highly valuable to you.
Hey friends, if you live in Canada, and especially Cambridge or Toronto, you’ve got to check this out.
Paul Baloche and Band, and Phil Wickham will be stopping by in just a few weeks. I shared this on my personal blog here and here and you can buy tickets here.
Dates
Cambridge – Sat. April 14 | Toronto – Sun. April 15
I’ll be at the Toronto show. Let me know if you’re gonna be there. I’d love to say hi!
Here in North America, Spring is in the air! With that seems to come a boatload of new releases. I like sharing new music but this time it’s a little closer to home. Each one of these artists has influenced me as a worshipper and some, especially as a drummer. If you’ve got a few bucks set aside for some new music, here are some albums you might want to consider.
On February 14, Hillsong United released their much anticipated album, Live in Miami. It is the first ever full-length recording of UNITED on tour.
If you haven’t purchased the new live album, you can grab it on iTunes Canada or US.
Simon Kobler
Hillsong United’s current and awesome drummer is none other than Simon Kobler. Here are some more pics of his kit on the Aftermath Tour and his drum specs.
There are some bands out there that you just love. You know that what they will put out there will be incredible, and you don’t need to “check out” the new record – you just buy it. For me Starfield is one of those bands. I’ve used songs off of every album they’ve recorded and have enjoyed hosting them back in Montreal is 2007.
I got to see Starfield most recently at the end of 2011 at NINEOFIVE and I got to hear some of their new stuff, along with a fresh rendition of I Have Decided (To Follow Jesus). And so, it is with great pleasure that I announce that the much anticipated Starfield record, The kingdom, finally hits stores today.
You can grab it on iTunes here:

A few weeks ago I was at a band practice and my wife and I realized something fairly significant: Not everyone is up-to-date or listening to current worship music. So what I want to do here on the blog is recommend some new worship releases that you should be checking out.
Regardless of if you will play them at your church or not, they’ll bless you as a drummer and worshiper.
